Ah Smoke... U should know that u get those 5 stats by mastering skills. U can get STR by mastering skills like lumberjacking, mining, sword skills and other.
No, as of now chunks of star are completely useless. You can't make anything with them, sell them, or fix anything with them. People have been requesting some kind of use for a while now, not sure if it will ever be done.
