I've been playing it all day using the drums, I play on hard with drums, and expert with guitar and bass... Harmonix just can't supply the demand that they underestimated. They say they do have plans to release instruments separately, but it'll be a fair wait before then.
If you wanted a new guitar really badly you could cry 'hardware fault' and they would send you a replacement, and then you don't send your 'broken' one back. Rock Band is a music video game developed by Harmonix Music Systems.
