For the heck of it, I'll list out my GCN games and a 2 line review for each game. XIII An okay game. Rather slow to get into and not too much action, I think. Hasn't aged well either. Skip it or rent it. 5/10 Battalion Wars Very short game, fairly easy as well. You may fail a mission or two, but once you understand the confusing controls, it becomes very easy. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean The game is about a thousand-times longer than the title, and the voice acting is just as cheesy as its title. Eternal Darkness Repetitive, ugly, privative, bad action, but amazing storytelling and voice acting, and its still somehow amazingly fun. Plus, Insanity effects... sweet. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals Repetitive, but a decent game. Worth a rent, graphics and partical effects are amazing. Geist Amazing concept drowned in horrible execution, bad voice acting, slow down in the frame rate and a mix bag of graphics. A mediocre game that could have been much better than it was. 6/10 Killer7 My favorite game, made by my favorite director: Suda51. This game has style, amazing story telling, and above-average voice acting, though the gameplay is repetitive and lacking, the story is also practically impossible to follow. 7/10 Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes Just bought it awhile ago. From what I can tell, I'm way too impatient for this game. I'll give a better review once I actually play this past the introduction. Metriod Prime Amazing game. Slightly annoying fetch quest at the end of the game, but the game is true to its 2D predecessor. Graphics are amazing for a first-gen game for the GCN and the environments are spectacular. 9/10 Metriod Prime 2: Echos More of the first Metriod Prime, with twice the frustrations and four times the 'Where the hell am I supposed to go?" Minority Report A game my mum bought me. Very 'meh' game, physics system is so crazy fake it makes it enjoyable, but thats the only thing enjoyable about it: Throwing a guy straight to the ground and seeing him bounce 12 feet in the air. 5/10 Odama ...WTF! Pinball-Strategy game where you control an army through a microphone and try to demolish the other army with a Pinball. Weird-ass game, but addicting and difficult as well. P.N.03 The only positive aspect of playing this game is seeing the lead character in a G-String with her last Suit. Gameplay is monotone and repetitive, all the places look the same, the girl seems to have tourettes with her constant ticking. Phantasy Online: Episode I and II Why-oh-why did I get this for single player? Fun for the first 12 hours, but then boring as hell for the remainder of the play-time. Why get an awesome weapon if you can't show it to anyone? Sigh. 8/10 Prince of Persia Finally beat it just a little while ago. Story is lame, but the game is really fun. I do suggest you pick this up. It is a little short, though. 8/10 Resident Evil This is the first game I got for the GameCube. I have yet to beat it, sadly. This is a really good game though, very scary and makes you think a bit. This, unlike RE4, is a TRUE survival horror game. I HIGHLY suggest you get this game. 9/10 Resident Evil 4 One of my favorite games. A lot of action, good graphics, the game progressing quickly and there never seems to be a dull moment. Truly a masterpiece. If you own a Wii or a GameCube, pick this one up NOW. 10/10 Skies of Arcadia Haven't gotten far in this game. Regular battles are your regular RPG affair, but the Air-Ship battles are nothing less than amazing. The story is... well, haven't gotten too far, but as for now: cliche. Soul Calibur 2 I love playing this game with my friend. Valdo is my hero. One of the best multiplayer games from any console. Good fun all around. I suggest you pick up ANY of the Soul Calibur titles, with the exception of Soul Calibur Legends for the Wii, which is supposed to suck. 9/10 Super Smash Brothers Melee BEST 'FIGHTER' GAME. I love this game, shame no one wants to play it with me, but this is one of the best figher games ever. I suggest EVERYONE to at least PLAY it. 10/10 Tales of Symphonia Bad voice acting, easy, RPG cliches galore, and graphics make me sick [not that their extraordinarily bad, they just make me physically feel ill]. Very average game, I gave it a chance, and after I beat the game its been collecting dust, despite the MANY replay values given to you. 7/10 Tony Hawk Underground Love it, as much as you could love a Tony Hawk game. Character customization was good, the game is pretty big, music was at least listen-able, and you could play as Gene Simmons from Kiss, sweet. 8/10 Viewtiful Joe Fun little brawler. Easy to get into, very stylish and just a fun game. The voice acting and story is god-awful, but didn't really subtract from the game. 7/10 The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Very fun game. I was at the last boss, but then erased my file because I didn't remember what was really going on, little did I remember that I hated the beginning and its a pretty long game, but I'll get back there eventually. All the bold titles I beat, all the rest I am either playing or going to play eventually. Some of these games, like Zelda and Battalion Wars, I pretty much have/had beat, but moved on to another game. All the games I haven't beat I didn't put a number review. Sure, I could easily put in some numbers because of how far I'm in some games, but I'm going to wait until I fully complete it. I hope this put a little in-sight in some of the games for the GameCube. If you would like a more in-depth review for one of the games [even for the ones I haven't beat], I would be more than welcome to give you my opinion about it. I made this list mostly to shed some light on a few GameCube titles. The Wii can play GameCube games and in all honesty, thats THE main reason why I play it constantly. So, get some GCN games for that Wii, they're cheap and there are some amazing games. Now back to ODAMA! [That weird-ass game] |
